We stopped at the restaurant for dinner while a road trip from Baltimore to the Twin Cities. It turned out to be a very good choice. We had the Valley Chicken with Smashed Potatoes and Maple Carrots ($22.99) and the 3-piece Fish & Chips ($18.99). The food was very good as well as the service, especially for a busy Saturday night.
Love this place. When I’m in town for campus events, I make it a priority to eat here. The atmosphere is tops; speaking as a single mom who often wonders where to go where it is comfortable to eat and socialize by oneself.
Traveled to Crawfordsville from Ellettsville on the motorcycle with my wife this this place (took about 2hrs because of detours). But for me it was well worth it! We sat @ the bar (better atmosphere). I had the blackened salmon mashed potatoes and squash/zucchini. I like most fish, not so much with salmon. It was the bomb! All of my lunch was awesome. Bartender was awesome. Her name was? But just look for the good looking girl covered in tattoos. I will be back! Wife had grilled chicken salad...as always!

Although a little tough to find, it's worth the effort!! The black letters on the window aren't visible when driving up and down the street so just look for the chairs out front on the corner and keep looking!! From the minute we walked in, the bartender made us feel welcome and right at home. Several regular customers were there also, definitely giving the place a homey feel. It's an elevated home but a home nonetheless! The decor is crisp and clean without being cluttered and overwhelming. Anthony Bourdain on the wall ensures excellent food and even better conversation! We had the cheese curds, chicken wrap and fish and chips. Everything arrived quickly and definitely cooked to order, it was all piping hot and fresh. Perfect portions left us nice and full but not leaving anything and not overly stuffed. Francis & Mount is a win and we'll be back if ever in the area!

That just happened.” That’s how we ended up 200 miles from home at Francis & Mount in Crawfordsville, Indiana—emotionally drained, incredibly proud, slightly overwhelmed, and very much in need of a drink. Enter Hillary. From the moment we sat down, she made two slightly shell‑shocked parents feel completely at ease. Great drinks, honest local nightlife advice (with the kind of warnings you only trust from a pro), and conversation that somehow hit the perfect balance of funny, real, and comforting. She listened to us ramble. She shared her own stories. She laughed with us. What started as “let’s grab one quick drink” turned into one of the best nights of the trip—and exactly what we needed after a big, emotional day. If you’re ever in the area, ask for Hillary. She has a rare talent for reading the room, pouring a great drink, and helping people decompress without even trying. Five stars. Would absolutely unwind here again. 🍸😄
Nice restaurant and bar. We sat in the bar area so it was pretty lively. Service was quick and friendly.Wife had a Lemon Drop I had a beer...her lemon drop was "deadly" which is a good thing! 😀 We ordered the Molly Melt and a Smash burger. Both were delicious. Since we were just visiting we were asking a lot of questions about what to do in the area...our servers were very helpful.
We ducked in just before the Motocross of Nations racers joined the downtown parade. The staff was grand the food was delicious - especially the smashed potatoes and the chocolate cake.
